
William Henry Boughton 1864 Diary
(1841 - 1869)
After mustering out of the 1st Regiment, Michigan Light Artillery, William Henry Boughton lived in Catskill with his uncle, Egbert Lineburgh, post master and dentist in town. Boughton boarded with Mrs. Van Gorden and Mrs. Croswell and attended St. Luke’s Church. He was baptized in a boarding home with Thankful Croswell and Betsey Croswell as witnesses. In his diary, Boughton mentions “Miss Betsy Criswell, my old boarding mistress in Catskill.”
