Family Genealogical Files for Greene County, NY

The Vedder Research Library maintains vertical reference files on many family groups that have called Greene County home for at least a generation. All files are organized by surname and utilize the most common spelling or variation of the surname.

Contents of these files generally include but are not limited to: letters of inquiry by family genealogists, email and handwritten inquiry replies, genealogical gleanings on family members, small family trees, copies of family bible registers, and newspaper articles and obituaries. Occasionally, copies of vital records may be found; however, these files should not be considered a resource for birth and death certificates.
