Manuscript Vertical Files

About:

The Manuscript Vertical Files is an artificial collection of small-batch and single instance donations which have arrived in the care of the Greene County Historical Society thanks to the generous consideration of a vast list of donors and historians. The earliest files in this collection were originally set aside in 1929, and new materials continue to be accessioned as deemed appropriate by the Society archivist. The following inventory was completed by Celeste MacCormack from 2019-2020, which portions of the inventory started by the Behr Family in 2018-19.

Using the Inventory:

This embedded spreadsheet inventory is text-searchable by using the “Control+F” (Find in Page) function of your browser. Simply use that keystroke to open the search bar and type your keyword. Please give the search function a moment to discover content. For whatever reason, scrolling over the spreadsheet occasionally increases the number of results. If you find something, it means we have it here at the Vedder available for you to examine.

Notice:

This inventory is a stopgap measure to increase collection accessibility, and the Manuscript Vertical Files are also now being slowly entered into our ArchivesSpace catalog. Greyed rows in the spreadsheet reflect entries that now have more detailed catalog entries in our primary system.
