The Vedder Research Library maintains a forty-drawer series of vertical subject files concerning topics of varying scope related to Greene County, New York. A controlled vocabulary was not consulted when creating folder titles, and there is no guiding principle governing folder contents. Many files contain photocopies and news clippings, and some occasionally contain original material with little or no secondary source material to contextualize the contents.
